Ordination to the Sacred Diaconate

On the Feast of the Reign of Christ, November 26th, 2017, Bishop Bruce Myers ordained to the sacred diaconate the Rev’d Gabriel Kwenga and the Rev’d Gene Ross. The beautiful service at St George, Lennoxville was accompanied by the voices of the Choeur Ô Gospel of Sherbrooke.

Deanery Evensong at Way’s Mills

On October 15th, 2017, a lovely thanksgiving service of Evensong was held at Church of the Epiphany, Way’s Mills by the light of candles and kerosene lamps. Bishop Bruce presided and Fr Edward preached the homily. The musical accompaniment featured the old pump organ with violin.


A Night of Entertainment in Lennoxville

People from all over the Deanery and local churches came together at St George, Lennoxville on September 30th for a night of entertainment. Actor and storyteller Jason Hildebrand enlivened the parable of the Prodigal Son with his Prodigal Trilogy monologues, and Sherbrooke’s gospel choir Le Choer Ô Gospel sang beautifully.

Brookbury’s 175th Anniversary

The Deanery gathered with Bishop Bruce on Sunday, July 30th, to celebrate the 175th anniversary of St John, Brookbury. A delightful lunch followed the service at Brookbury Hall.

Canada Day in Hatley

For Canada’s 150th birthday, the Deanery held a special service commemorating the life of the Right Rev’d Charles James Stewart, founder of St James’ Hatley and Bishop of Quebec. This coincided with a Canada Day play held in the church commemorating Stewart’s life and witness.

Anglican-Syrian Orthodox Worship

The Deanery of St Francis gathered in worship with the people of St Ephrem’s Syrian Orthodox Church, Sherbrooke. This joining together celebrated our shared ministry to refugees from Syria.
