Welcome to the Deanery of St. Francis
The Anglican Diocese of Quebec in the Eastern Townships
Who We Are
The Deanery of St. Francis is a community of Anglicans across twenty-one parishes in the Eastern Townships. Inspired by the witness of the scriptures and the early Church, and informed by our God-given reason, we seek to shape our lives according to the example of Jesus Christ.
As Anglicans in the Diocese of Quebec, we are called to shine with Christ’s light in acts of praise and reconciling love, to be bearers of the Good News, ministers of God’s grace, and faithful stewards of God’s Church and Kingdom.
Anglicanism has held a prominent place in the Eastern Townships since the 1790s. The oldest church in the region was built in 1827 and remains part of the Regional Ministry. When you enter one of the parishes in the Deanery, you step into part of the rich history of the Anglican Church in Quebec.
The Deanery of St. Francis is one of the six regions of the Anglican Diocese of Quebec. Our region serves twenty parishes in the Eastern Townships. Learn more about our parishes.

Worship is at the very heart of the Anglican Church.
You will find Anglican services beautiful in their ordered dignity, focus on God, and mindfulness of human needs. Our principal worship takes place on Sundays and includes services of Holy Eucharist, Service of the Word, and Morning Prayer. Information about the weekly service schedule can be found on our Calendar page.
I’m new. What can I expect?
Throughout the Christian world, Anglicans are known for their prayer books. The Daily Office, morning and evening payer, includes psalms and Bible readings said either individually or corporately. In times when we are unable to formulate our own prayers, prayer books demonstrate that we can rely on Scripture and the Church to supply our need.
The Daily Office can be read silently or aloud, or enjoyed through audio.
